There are several standards for video signals. In a large part of Europe the PAL signal is used. America uses NTSC.

PCs can also be equipped with a video signal connection. This is usually called TV out. This connection is either an RCA or Mini Din plug. When your PC has a Mini DIN connection for the video transmitter, you need to use an adapter for S-Video to Video signal

RF Aerial Signal
The aerial signal is the high-frequency (RF) signal from you aerial connection This signal contains a large number of TV channels. Each TV channel transmits an audio signal and a video signal. To transform the aerial signal into a video signal with corresponding audio signal (image and sound of 1 TV channel), you need a tuner. Not only your TV, but also your VCR is equipped with a tuner. This means that with a combination of a VCR and a Marmitek video transmitter, you can connect a second TV without using any wires (you can use the tuner in the VCR to change channels). If you do not want to use the VCR, you can use the Marmitek TV Anywhere. The TV Anywhere has a built-in tuner.

Audio Line Signal
The audio line signal is the sound signal for the RCA or Mini jack - or SCART connection for your equipment. This signal is a not yet amplified, which means it cannot be directly connected to your speakers. You first need an amplifier. Marmitek audio/video transmitters transmit line signals.

In PCs the line signal is available on the sound card (via Mini jack).

Speaker Signal
Amplifies the audio signal so it can be directly connected to your speakers. This signal is available on the speaker out of your amplifier. The Marmitek Speakerlink has a built-in amplifier.

S-Video
The S-Video signal (also called S-VHS) is a video signal that transmits colour and brightness information separately. You can recognise a S-Video connected by its special 4-ply Mini Din plug. Because it needs fewer transformations, the image quality is better. To transmit S-Video signals (2 signals) wirelessly, the signal first needs to be transformed into a Video signal (1 signal). Marmitek has a special adapter cable to perform this transformation.
